Cinema halls and multiplexes are closed in many parts of the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Extreme measures in cinema hall are being taken even in countries where the corona cases are less and theatres are open.
The Tel Aviv municipality in Israel, however, has come up with an innovative method to both attract movie-goers and help them maintain social distancing. They have launched a floating cinema on the waters of Yarkon Park lake in Tel Aviv, the city of Israel.
The sail-in cinema provides seating aboard 70 pedal and rowing boats, two metres apart to maintain social distancing. Two films are being screened every evening from the last week of August and The first screening was attended by about 200 people.
Israel managed to contain the coronavirus in initial months, but has been hit by a second wave of infections which pushed the cases past 1 lakh and the country registered 795 deaths.
