A 5 star hotel in Vietnamese capital Hanoi has re-opened itself with a Golden twist to attract guests with expensive tastes. The hotel has gold-plated bathtubs, wash basins, gold plated swimming pool walls and even toilets, all housed behind a massive golden exterior.
The Dolce Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel has made this expensive effort to bring visitors back to the city where the tourism sector is slowly reopening after a three-month novel coronavirus lockdown.
The hotel, owned by Hoa Binh Group and managed by US based Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc, stands in stark contrast to its surrounding environment which reflects the soviet communist atmosphere.
“At the moment, there is no other hotel like this in the world,” said Nguyen Huu Duong, the majority owner and chairman of Hoa Binh Group which owns the hotel.
Hotel facilities include a 24 k gold-tiled infinity pool on the rooftop, while inside guest rooms, bathrooms are laced with yellow metal. Price for one night starts from INR 18,716 a night, the hotel is in same range with the other 5-star accommodations in the city.
Vietnam has been relatively successful in containing the Corona virus outbreak when compared to rest of the Asian countries. The owner said if not for the pandemic, the hotel would likely be fully booked with international guests which is very much likely we believe.
