National Security Advisor Ajit Doval had a meeting today in South Street, New Delhi, with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper. They discussed a variety of strategically relevant problems and threats.
Both sides emphasized the need for common interests and capacity building in all realms to ensure a safe, stable, and rule-based regional and global security environment.
Pompeo, along with his wife Susan and US Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper, landed in India on Monday, even as the US presidential election campaign approached its final stage in the November 3 elections.
Doval had a rather fruitful meeting with Pompeo, as well as Esper, in the South Block, official sources said.
