Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday initiated and laid the foundation stones for 16 National Highways projects in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The total length of the road is one thousand 411 kilometers. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gadkari said that the length of National Highways in Andhra Pradesh before May 2014 was four thousand 193 Kilometre, which has now expanded to six thousand 860 Kilometre.
He said, there has been an increase of 64 percent in National Highway length during the past 6 years.The Minister informed that five thousand Kilometre of National Highways development works is going under Bharatmala Pariyojana in the State. In addition, 400 Kilometre of port connectivity roads will also be developed under Bharatmala Pariyojana.
