Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated Hyderabad’s first-ever waste management construction and demolition facility in Jeedimetla City on Saturday. The 500 TPD capacity plant is installed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. The plant separates and recycles waste such as sand, gravel, and bricks separately. It is expected to recycle 50 tons of waste every hour.
Construction and demolition may be sold at Rs 342 per ton. The plant set up by GHMC and Ramky enviro at phase 6 of the Jeedimetla industrial area is spread over 15 acres. To date, 13,14,791,11 metric tons of waste have been transferred from Sachivayalam, Kothwalguda, Fathullaguda, Jeedimetla, and Jawaharnagar.
All debris related to the construction and demolition of houses, road repair work, shall be transported to the facility. Taking Twitter, Minister KT Rama Rao said that the plant was built in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode to recycle waste and build tiles/bricks, road metal, coarse sand to be reused in pavements, building, etc.
