UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be the Chief Guest at the 2021 Indian Republic Day Parade. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly extended an invitation to his British counterpart last month. Johnson will be the first British PM to take part in the Rajpath Parade in 27 years.
John Major was the last prime minister in the United Kingdom to be the chief guest at the January 26 parade in 1993. According to sources, Modi formally invited Johnson during a telephone conversation on 27 November, when Johnson invited the Indian Prime Minister to the G7 summit next year in the United Kingdom.
